Our objective for this age group is to help the young Futebolistas develop basic skills and physical literacy using safe, fun and enjoyable games and practices. Developing agility, balance and co-ordination, as well as the ability to control the body, run, jump, throw, kick and catch will help your child to become soccer players and start building confidence needed to take part in many sporting activities.
Being part of a peer group lays the ground work for not only future sport teams, but also helps children prepare for entry into school. Our program compliments the 4 frames philosophy of the new Ontario kindergarten curriculum which are: Belonging (Belonging and Contributing), Engagement (Problem Solving and Innovating), Expression (Demonstrating Literacy and mathematics Behaviors) & Well-Being (Self-Regulation and Well-Being).
Beginning players may be completely new to soccer or simply new to organized and highly competitive soccer. These athletes may have the strength, endurance and ability to play in casual setting but need a great deal of instruction and modelling in additions to repetition and the opportunity to play and problem solve to discover tactics and develop skill. These athletes are learning:- A variety of skills, techniques and tactics- Experimenting with different initiatives and learning the outcomes- The environment remains competitive, but with more emphasis on comprehension and assimilation - Perseverance to continue through challenges
